The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), is the second stage of pilot training after PPL that allows private pilots to progress into more complex aircraft and flight training exercises. It involves both theory and flight instruction training. Having a Commercial Pilot Licence allows flying for a compensation or a hire, so it is the choice, if you wish to pursue flying as a career.
Approximate Duration: 8-12 months for full-time course. Minimum approved grant for CPL by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is 200 hours of flight training. The 200 hours are cumulative of the hours flown at Private Pilot Licence stage.
